Vanaheim – This band should need no introduction, as the band belongs to the Mead and Greed Festival just as much as the mead itself. The band was part of one of the first editions in 2019, back then at the Emscherdamm. The legendary double show in 2022, a year of crisis hit hard by the coronavirus and other mishaps, is also unforgettable. It is therefore an honor for us to welcome the band to the Mead and Greed Festival for a third time. The band will be bringing a brand-new album with them, which we, and you, certainly can't wait to hear! So don't miss one of the first opportunities to experience the new album live!

Vanaheim was founded in 2015 in Tilburg, the Netherlands. They stand for an energetic mix of folk, orchestral and melodic influences to surprise the listener with an epic storm. The theme of the songs and lyrics are inspired by folklore and ancient fantasy stories.

In 2017 Vanaheim released their first music on their EP 'The House Spirit' was received well, which resulted in their first shows, small tours and support slots of bigger bands in the genre. After the release of 'The House Spirit', Vanaheim consolidated their vision, which resulted in their debut full length album.

'Een Verloren Verhaal' is a concept album which shows a big step in the development of the band. Adding more acoustic parts and songs, clean vocals, a wider variety of arrangements, and a higher end production, the sound was taken to the next level.

With 'Een Verloren Verhaal', Vanaheim managed to reach a wide audience. Vanaheim went to play Wacken Open Air, Graspop Metal Meeting, went on tour with Ensiferum, played shows with a.o. Alestorm, Heidevolk and Finsterforst, and went on their first headline tour through Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
