Mead and Greed is known for being a festival that places a strong emphasis on folk metal and exceptional instruments. And in this category, the seven Danes of Vansind certainly deliver top marks. Bagpipes, thin whistles, strings—the band offers pretty much everything a folk metal fan could desire. Therefore, it's a special pleasure to welcome them to Mead and Greed 2026!

The band originates from Denmark, with members from all over the country. Just as their geographical differences are diverse, so are their musical backgrounds. As members of various Danish bands (Panzerchrist, Detest, Iron Fire, Vanir, and Mindmare), they share a love of music and a desire to add something special to the Danish folk scene. And it was precisely from this dream that Vansind was born. 

After a promising EP debut in 2021, their debut album "Mørket" followed in 2023. Since then, the Danes have been conquering the stages of Europe.
